Cameroonian Fabrice FUNIBA elected GAAT President

Fabrice Funiba is the first president of the Africa-Turkey Business and Friendship Group (GAAT), created last July. In this new role, the business leader and CEO of Tab Isonem-Cameroon has the onerous responsibility of boosting cooperation between Africa and Turkey. He will be assisted in his duties by a board comprising Senegalese Cheikh Mohamadou, General Secretary; Senegalese Odile Barry, Deputy General Secretary; and Nigerian Ramatoulaye Male, Treasurer. GAAT is an organization that brings together many African countries around the world’s 18th largest economy.

It is Mr. Funiba’s task to seize the opportunities offered by the “Strategy for the Development of Trade and Economic Relations with Africa”, launched by Turkey in 2003. The volume of trade between the African continent and Turkey amounts to almost $45 billion, with growth of $35.4 billion over the past twenty years.

As the new president of the Turkish and Cameroonian Businessmen’s Association (TURCABA), created in 2009, Fabrice Funiba will be using this international platform to bring Turkish and Cameroonian businessmen closer together.
